Jack McDonald

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Jack McDonald oversees Upland’s overall strategic direction, acquisition, integration and growth strategies.

Prior to founding Upland in 2010, Jack was chairman and CEO of Perficient, Inc., a leading information technology consulting firm, from 1999-2009, where he led a team that grew the business from startup to a publicly-traded (NASDAQ: PRFT) $250 million revenues award-winning industry leader with operations in North America, Europe, China and India.

Jack is a serial entrepreneur and a winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He is actively involved in the Austin civic and nonprofit community and currently serves as chairman elect of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, chairman of PeopleFund, a community development loan fund for low-income entrepreneurs, and a member of the board of KIPP Austin Public Schools, a network of seven nonprofit schools serving more than 2,000 students in east Austin. Jack previously served as chairman of the Greater Austin Technology Partnership and chairman of Texas Emerging Technology Fund for the central Texas region, as well as on the board of Peoples Community Clinic, which provides high quality healthcare to more than 10,000 low income central Texans.

Tim Mattox

President and Chief Operating Officer

Tim Mattox oversees Upland’s sales, marketing, development, operations, human resources and product areas, helping the company grow more effectively and efficiently. He also leads our GM’s, who run Upland’s various lines of business.

Before joining Upland in 2014, Tim was at Dell, Inc. for approximately 15 years, holding executive roles in strategy, operations and marketing. He ran worldwide enterprise product management including pricing, demand/supply and financial forecasting, and product launch operations. He also ran Dell’s corporate strategy, reporting to the CEO for two years as part of the executive leadership team. Prior to this role, Tim led B2B marketing for Dell’s Americas region corporate business group, helping Dell achieve #1 share position in commercial notebooks, desktops and workstations. He also led worldwide product marketing for all of Dell’s desktops, notebooks and workstations for both the corporate and consumer market. Prior to this role, Tim started and ran DellHost, Dell’s entry into the web hosting business. He joined Dell to start and run the strategy team for Dell’s enterprise systems group.

Preceding Dell, Tim worked for Bain & Company and Oracle Corporation. He sits on the board of the National Center for Arts and Technology, an innovative educational nonprofit. Tim holds BS/MS degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT and an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.

Mike Hill brings more than 18 years of experience in finance, accounting and business operations to the Upland team.

Prior to Upland, Mike served as CFO of Perficient, Inc., (NASDAQ: PRFT) which is a leading information technology consulting firm in the U.S. After joining Perficient as CFO in 2004, he helped grow the company from approximately $30 million in annualized revenues to more than $200 million within three years, leading the company through eight acquisitions and increasing its market capitalization from approximately $70 million to over $500 million.

Previously, Mike served in executive management roles for several technology start-up companies and spent more than seven years with Ernst & Young LLP in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services practice in Austin, Texas. Mike received a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and is a licensed certified public accountant in the State of Texas.

Mounir Hilal leads the Upland Customer Success organization, which is focused on driving adoption, value realization, retention and loyalty for existing customers.

Prior to Upland, Mounir served as Vice President of Client Services for Tenrox, where he oversaw the global professional services organization and was responsible for growing services revenue. With more than 12 years of professional services experience, Mounir has extensive knowledge in enterprise software design, development and deployment processes, as well as business consulting and project management. In addition, he has a high degree of expertise in operational control, compliance and business process optimization.

Mounir holds a bachelor’s degree in software engineering from McGill University and an MBA from Queen’s University, and is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Sean Nathaniel is responsible for translating Upland’s product vision into cloud applications that deliver world-class reliability, scalability and performance.

Most recently, Sean was CIO of Enterprise Software Developer Marex Group, Inc., where he led the innovative product development and technology operations team. He was responsible for the strategy and execution of the product vision, delivery of Cloud services and led a range of teams including technical support, training, project implementation and professional services. In addition, Sean was responsible for global sales and distribution channels outside North America.

Prior to that, Sean served as Director of Technology for a $100 million dollar e-commerce company providing services to 20 thousand corporate and over 2 million consumer customers. Throughout his more than 15 year career, he has held various technology leadership roles in manufacturing, telecommunication, e-commerce and enterprise software industries. Sean holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Northwestern College and an MBA in Executive Leadership from the University of Nebraska.
