At Upland Software, we recognize the significant impact AI is having on our customers and our business. AI has made tremendous advancements in recent years. Early on, our leadership team recognized the need to focus on AI’s potential and approach these opportunities methodically. Clear focus and strategy are crucial.

Innovation in the Upland Portfolio: We are using AI to boost our products, starting with an AI impact analysis to understand its effects on our users’ jobs and industries. We’re adding AI functionality to our products and leveraging AI in partnerships with Salesforce, Microsoft, and IBM. For example, with BA Insight, we’re building the world’s first AI enablement platform, unlocking the data and knowledge in 90+ enterprise applications to maximize investments in products like Azure AI Cognitive Search and Microsoft Co-Pilot. This is just one example of how we are creating customer value through AI. Responsibility, Security, and Compliance: Managing AI risk is a top priority. We’ve implemented an internal review and approval process for AI initiatives, balancing speed-to-market with customer benefits. Our focus on security and compliance builds trust with our customers, ensuring that our AI-based products keep them secure and compliant.

Internal Workplace Productivity: We use AI tools internally to boost development, testing, and overall employee efficiency. We collaborate with industry leaders like Atlassian, AWS, and Microsoft, learning from their successes and failures, and experimenting with new concepts. We aim to skip the learning curve by adopting established best practices that meet our high standards.

The Upland Software AI Council: We formed an internal team to devise an effective, responsible plan for AI, evolving into our AI Council. Our mission: “Harness the power of revolutionary technology to enable a more efficient workplace, build products that deliver customer value, and drive our business forward, while maintaining the highest security and compliance standards, minimizing risks to all Upland stakeholders.”

While it’s still early days for AI at Upland and across the industry, the opportunities are immense.
