One year after the opening of its first Center of Excellence (CoE) headquartered in Bengaluru – Karnataka – India, Upland continues to scale its full-time R&D presence in the market as part of its continued expansion of its global R&D team . The CoE, which serves as Upland’s global engineering cornerstone, has hired 50 new Uplanders in the market since its opening and intends to double that number in 2023 to further accelerate the company’s ability to deliver customer-driven digital transformation solutions across its strategic product library.
“We continue to add to a great team of talented people working across various individual contributor and leadership roles in India. While most IT companies are pushing a return-to-office policy or a hybrid model, Upland supports a work-from-home model that has defined the majority of Upland’s global workforce even before the pandemic,” said Dan Doman, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Upland. “We’ve doubled down on promoting rapid accountability, trust between teammates, clear responsibilities for all team members and, as a result, a true work-life balance.”
“Our differentiators have been our flexibility in the working model, opportunity for people looking to build a long-term career given our 30 (and growing) products and the backing of a large public company, and best-in-class benefits and policies that actively promote a healthy work-life balance and wellbeing,” said Srinivas Sampath, Vice President of R&D and Site Leader in Bengaluru. “Our recruitment processes have been fine-tuned to select the best talent and to ensure a seamless experience for any prospective candidate who wants to join Upland.”
We spoke with Thilagavathi Chilakuru, HR Generalist, and one of the first people hired at the CoE. “If you are professionally passionate and you want to grow and get visible, you should be at Upland. That’s something that I can assure, and I have seen the same growth in everyone who has onboarded, ” said Thilagavathi Chilakuru.
