Wow. That’s all I can say about this week’s content marketing articles. Well, that’s not quite true. I can actually say a great deal about my choices this week, but I’m not sure I would do them justice. Even though attempts were made at describing them below, I encourage you to read them in full. Whether you’re new to the subject or swimming in it daily, these articles will teach you something new about content marketing–so enjoy!

For anyone thinking of investing in content marketing software, Content Marketing Experience published a fantastic article that walks through all of the points you should consider before choosing a vendor. For example, does it integrate with other platforms and softwares you rely upon? Do you already have a content marketing strategy in place, and a team capable of managing that strategy? This article really hits the nail on the head, and will help you to understand the answers to questions you may not have known to ask. Via Content Marketing Experience

Conversations about content are everywhere these days, but as Michael Brenner points out, many marketers still struggle with some of the terms being thrown around, including content strategy and content marketing. Further inspired by sessions at Content Marketing World, he wrote a wonderful post outlining what exactly these terms mean, why they’re important, and how to actually do these things. Highly recommended. Via B2B Marketing Insider

The moment I read this post by Ryan Skinner, I knew it needed to be in this week’s roundup. There are lots of good posts that make a case for content marketing, but Skinner gets directly at the root of why content marketing is here–and here to stay. He discusses the disruptive forces at work that have made content marketing so important to marketers, and the challenges arising as a result of these changes. This post is a great example of excellent content: it inspires, it teaches, it informs, it’s well-written, it’s no bullshit, and most importantly, it will makes you think about content marketing in an entirely new way. Enjoy. Via Velocity Partners
