Dear InterFAX User,
Please take action. This email contains critical information related to your ongoing InterFAX service. If you are not responsible for implementing the necessary changes, please notify the correct person within your organization.
ALERT – InterFAX is Deprecating Support for TLS 1.1 on July 1, 2020
To sustain market-driven security protocols, InterFAX will stop supporting TLS 1.1 on July 1, 2020. InterFAX will support TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3.
Who needs to take action?
Please make sure the web developer, network infrastructure, or IT team in your company are notified, to implement the necessary actions to ensure uninterrupted fax service to all company users.
Requirement:
As all major web browser providers including Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Mozilla, have decided to phase out TLS 1.1, InterFAX will follow industry best-practices and stop supporting TLS 1.1 on July 1, 2020. This is true for both our user portals and APIs.
Potential Impact:
Unless your browser, email system, or API supports TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.3 your fax service will stop completely effective July 1, 2020.
Action Recommended:
- Review your system and check if you are choosing a specific security protocol when sending web requests to InterFAX. If so, we suggest you change to TLS 1.2 or 1.3.
- Test your application (see steps below).
Testing your Application:
We have set test servers to work without TLS 1.1. We suggest you change the API endpoint for testing purposes only, as follows:
